Rates and time limits
Rates and limits vary by block. Some areas have short-term meters that encourage turnover, while other locations allow longer stays. Commercial vehicle rules can be different from passenger rules.
ParkNYC zones
ParkNYC sessions must match the zone where the vehicle is parked. NYC 311 warns that the zone number cannot be changed once the session begins; if you move the vehicle, you need a new session for the new zone.
Sundays and legal holidays
NYC DOT says metered regulations are not in effect on Sundays or major legal holidays such as New Yearβs Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Always check current posted rules for exceptions or special restrictions.
