Frequently Asked Questions
CurbIntel™ is aSpot's real-time curb scoring engine. As you enter approach range of a parking spot, it analyzes four signals — spot freshness, community confidence, live sign intelligence, and nearby block competition — and synthesizes them into a single 0–100 Curb Score™. That score powers one of three driver-facing verdicts: Commit, Caution, or Keep Rolling.
The Curb Score™ is a recommendation, not a guarantee. Higher scores indicate stronger alignment across freshness, crowd confidence, and sign timing. Lower scores indicate more uncertainty or a better nearby alternative. The score is there to help you decide quickly under pressure, but posted street signs always take precedence.
aSpot is crowd-sourced — when a driver leaves a parking spot, they can mark it in the app and nearby drivers get notified. The map shows spots reported by real drivers in real time. The more people use aSpot in your area, the more accurate and useful the data becomes.
Tap any block on the map and aSpot pulls the official parking sign data for that block — times, days, restrictions, and exceptions — and presents it in plain language. No more squinting at confusing sign stacks. The data comes directly from official city parking datasets and is updated regularly.
Alternate side parking (ASP) is a street cleaning rule requiring you to move your car on specific days so street sweepers can pass. Violating it results in a ticket. aSpot reads the ASP rules for your parked block and counts down to when you need to move, so you're never caught off guard.
Tap the "I'm Leaving" button on the main map screen before you pull out. aSpot will pin your spot and notify nearby drivers who are looking for parking in that area. It takes one tap and helps the whole community.
The heatmap shows parking difficulty by block — green blocks are typically easy to find a spot, red blocks are competitive or heavily restricted. Use it before you drive to plan which streets to target. The heatmap is built from historical spot report data and parking rule density.
Save any address — your home, office, gym, or anywhere you park regularly. From Saved Places you can tap "Find Parking" to see nearby availability, or "Plan Parking" to review the rules before you leave. Swipe to delete, tap to rename, and drag to reorder your list.
aSpot launched with full parking sign data coverage for New York City. Crowd-sourced spot reporting works anywhere drivers use the app. Expansion to additional cities is on the roadmap — let us know which city you'd like to see next.
aSpot collects your precise location (to show nearby spots and sign rules), account information (name, email, phone number), and parking activity data (spots you report and your parking history). We do not sell your data to third parties. Read our full Privacy Policy for complete details.
You can delete your account and all associated data directly from the app in Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, parking history, and all data from our servers. If you need assistance, email support@aspot.app with the subject "Delete my aSpot data."
Make sure aSpot has "While Using" location access in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → aSpot. If data is still missing, it may be in a zone with limited official sign records. Contact us with your cross streets and we'll look into it.
