Center City meter rates
PPA announced rate changes effective July 1, 2025: Center City Core meters increased to $4.00 per hour, the broader Center City Area increased to $3.50 per hour, and Center City long-term 4-hour and 12-hour meters increased to $2.50 per hour.
- Core Center City is generally the most expensive on-street meter environment.
- Rates and time limits are posted on signs and kiosks.
- Use the exact zone and side of street where you parked.
meterUP and pay-by-plate
PPA’s meterUP app lets drivers pay by zone number. PPA warns that each street block and street side has its own dedicated meterUP zone number. Pay-by-plate kiosks also track payment by license plate.
- Enter your plate correctly.
- Use the zone for your side of the street.
- Extending time does not override the posted maximum time limit.
How aSpot should be used
Use aSpot to decide whether a nearby non-core block is worth trying before paying the most expensive curb rate. Then confirm the meter, zone, time limit, and posted restriction on the block.
- Avoid blindly extending if you are already at the posted maximum.
- Check for loading or temporary no-parking signs before paying.
- Save your parked-car location after starting the meter.
